SWAMPED WITH MURDER, MYSTERY, AND ROMANCE - A Book Review

Lowcountry BribeLowcountry Bribe by C. Hope Clark
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Carolina Slade Bridges is the full name of the heroine in Lowcountry Bribe, but don’t call her Mrs. Bridges.
She goes by Slade, a southern family name she acquired along with her southern values that if you follow the rules you’d be okay. That that’s how life worked. She knew her intolerable marriage to college sweetheart Alan Bridges would end in divorce. What she didn’t know is that her soon to be ex had planned an alternative to divorce. Murder. The way she found out is a roll-a-coaster ride of mystery and suspense so subtly laid out with such well developed characters, and in settings written with such detail that I felt like I was there. Romance enters the picture when, as a Federal Employee of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Slade has to call the Inspector General’s office after one of her clients offers her a bribe. Enter the Texas Ranger like IG agent Wayne Largo. He has the badge, she has the grit, and together they bring down a politician, a director, a civil servant and an unscrupulous businessman. Disposing of a few dead bodies along the way. This is my kind of read. Your the man girl!!! Keep writing C. Hope Clark.
